Kentucky
Kentucky covers 40,411 square miles and has a population of 4,041,769 people. Kentucky's capital is Frankfort, which has a population of 27,741. Other important cities are Bowling Green (pop. 49,296), Covington (pop. 43,370), Lexington-Fayette (pop. 260,512), Louisville (pop. 256,231), Owensboro (pop. 54,067) and Hopkinsville (pop. 30,089).

Kentucky was admitted to the Union on January 28th,1861 as the 34th state. It's bordered by Illinois, Indiana and Ohio to the north, West Virginia to the northeast, Virginia to the southeast, Tennessee to the south and Missouri to the southwest. The state flower is the "Goldenrod" and it's nickname is "Bluegrass State". Kentucky's economy is broken into two categories; agriculture and industry. Horses, cattle, tobacco, dairy products, hogs, soybeans and corn provide for the agricultural side. While transportation equipment, chemical products, electric equipment, machinery, food processing, tobacco products, coal and tourism provide for the industrial side.
