In Scripps Ranch most homes were built and occupied in 1970-1980’s with new construction continuing mainly in the new master planned community called Scripps Ranch Villages along Scripps-Poway Parkway. Although there are spectacular beautiful custom homes, the majority of homes in Scripps Ranch are comprised of middle-class and upper-middle-class modern homes.

Families are attracted to this community. Scripps Ranch kids attend San Diego Unified School District schools. Scripps Ranch High School opened its doors in September 1993. New elementary and middle schools were opened in recent years. A few of the schools are open year-round. Elementary schools ranked in the 90th percentile, among the highest in the state. The residents of Scripps Ranch are well-educated; about 57% of residents, over age 25, have college degrees.
Recreation: Scripps Ranch offers many activities available and well-supported; soccer being one of the most popular sports. Many clubs and
activities for adults including: garden club, quilting club, computer club, small theater group, writer’s group, and music club to name a few.
