Siesta Key

Siesta Key is a small barrier island located just off central Florida’s Gulf Coast. It is 55 miles south of Tampa.  It has a population of approximately  6,565 people per 2010 census and stretches eight miles in length with total land area of 2.30 miles.  Part of Siesta Key lies within the boundaries of the City of Sarasota, while the majority of Siesta Key lies in the unincorporated Sarasota County.  Siesta Key is connected to the mainland by two drawbridges.  People who live here consider it to be paradise with its soft white sandy beaches and warm tropical climate.
