Verde Valley, Arizona
Verde Valley is located in the center of Arizona you’ll find the towns of Camp Verde, Cottonwood, and Clarkdale along the banks of the Verde River. This area comprises the Verde Valley. Tourism flourishes with the vast array of exciting outdoor activities and attractions which are found throughout the Valley.
This pretty area is surrounded by national forests and plenty of nice scenery. Hiking, fishing, camping and scenic driving are all popular.
The town of Cottonwood, located between Prescott and Sedona, is surrounded on three sides by rugged mountain peaks which give way to mesas to the North. The Verde River, which feeds the cottonwood trees that give the town it’s name also provides a home to fish and fisherman alike. The town has grown from a small farming community to the Verde Valley’s population center.
Just north of the Verde Valley is Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, and farther along is Flagstaff. The Verde Valley is accessible off I-17. The area is about 50 miles south of Flagstaff and 90 miles north of Phoenix.
