Monument Colorado
is located 20 miles north of Colorado Springs and fifty
miles south of Denver. The first settlers came from Iowa, and were passing through to begin new lives in California during the Gold Rush era of the late 1800’s. They found the land to be fertile and very productive, and never left.
Monument has been an incorporated town since June 2, 1879.
