Gold Hill is located in Jackson County, Oregon. As of July 1, 2011, the population was 1,220 people. It is located on a bend of the Rogue River.
Gold Hill was founded in the early 1800’s by miners looking to make it rich shortly after a large gold nugget was found.
The town’s fathers bought and sold land, traded and homesteaded until the town became what it is today.
